Liquid Descent was selected to be performed by the Airmen of Note for the Young Composers Showcase at the 2018 Jazz Education Network Conference. The composition was inspired by driving into the Colorado Rocky Mountains on I-70 for a day of skiing. The first alto, second alto, and third tenor saxophones open up the chart on clarinets imitating traffic sounds. Then the chart breaks out into a funk section. Solos are written for first trombone and guitar.
